F&L has designed several land development projects throughout the Bay Area, but the one project we wish to showcase is our Redevelopment Project in
San Francisco, the Mission Bay Project.

Mission Bay, San Francisco

For Mission Bay Development Group, F&L has been entrusted to prepare infrastructure studies and plans to support development projects with both permanent and temporary infrastructure, act as Prime consultant and civil engineer for numerous street infrastructure projects, act as Prime consultant and civil engineer for one park project, act as Civil Engineer on another park project, prepare parcel mapping of over 100 acres and prepare ALTA surveys of 50 acres.

The single largest project we’ve engineered in Mission Bay is the Residential Area. This project included the study, design and construction of infrastructure to support 13 development blocks and 7 parks in the Mission Bay Redevelopment Area. F&L performed an infrastructure study to determine the required utilities and roadways necessary to adequately support the areas planned development. F&L incorporated recommendations from the geotechnical engineer regarding soil issues and incorporated recommendations from previously approved Storm Drainage, Sanitary Sewer and Water Master Plans throughout the study and design period.

F&L also was the Engineer of Record for several parks within the redevelopment area: 1) two linear parks along the Channel, 2) a sports park, and 3) a sports park and dog run area. The linear parks along the channel included the design of a kayak launch pier and floating dock and the design of a plaza area including an overlook over the Channel. This project won an APWA Project of the Year Award for 2009.

F&L also prepared the exhibits for the infrastructure Master Plan for the entire Mission Bay Development area (300 acres). F&L continues to perform Infrastructure Studies, improvements design and Parcel Mapping for the area. Currently, F&L is a lead engineer in developing alternatives and recommendations for infrastructure improvements. F&L is the primary consultant responsible for parcel mapping new lots throughout the redevelopment area.
