We have established an engineering reputation with several agencies and cities throughout the Bay Area including the West Bay Sanitary District, the East Palo Alto Sanitary District, the South Bayside System Authority, the City of San Leandro, the Town of Los Gatos, and the City of Burlingame, to showcase a few.

F&L has been the District Engineer for the West Bay Sanitary District for the past 10 years. The West Bay Sanitary District owns, operates and maintains a collection system comprised of 230 miles of sewer mains and 12 pump stations. As the District Engineer, F&L has been involved in the District’s Annual Capital Improvement Program through planning, design and construction. The projects include pipe replacement by both the traditional open cut method of construction and newer trenchless replacement methods, in public right of ways and easements, and the rehabilitation/replacement of pump stations.

The East Palo Alto Sanitary District is a collection system comprised of 35 miles of sewer mains. F&L has been the East Palo Alto Sanitary District’s Engineer for the past five years and has been involved in project managing and guiding the District through their engineering issues including reducing infiltration and inflow and grease problems throughout their collection system. EPASD experienced only one sanitary sewer overflow (less than 100 gallons, fully contained) in 2008. We have also engineered and managed through construction two Cured-in-Place Pipe projects for the District.

F&L has completed the design of four projects for the City of San Leandro; a pipe replacement project, a City-wide Point Repair Project, an easement pipe rehabilitation project, and two sanitary sewer lift stations replacement projects. These projects incorporate both traditional open cut trench methods and new trenchless methods of manhole and pipe rehabilitation and replacement in both public right-of-ways and within easements.

For SBSA, F&L completed the design and provided construction consultation of a grading and paving project throughout the plant. This project was successfully completed in January of 2010. Currently, F&L is designing a lagoon cleaning project for the Plant which is scheduled for construction in the summer of 2010.

For the Town of Los Gatos, F&L performs on-going map reviews and has assisted the City in numerous street and drainage improvement projects throughout the Town.
